Such is the irony called life

When you figure out how to behave
as a kid, That's when you grow up
when you have money to buy what you want
Then you start saving up
When you come home and open the windows
To let the light in, the sun sets
When you can afford cosmetic surgery
to look good, too old it gets
when it is time to stop running
and you want to settle down
you have no comforts left
out of them, you have grown
When you wish for a chocolate
you are too much a kid
The jar is too high on the shelf
Or too tight is the lid
when you wish for it again
You think it'll make you sick
You think you can't indulge
Or You will get diabetic
when you wish for it again
though you know it will kill
You can't get up and there is no one
your wish to fulfill
Life plays with you, you know
Always grants you your wish
But not when you want it
But the least you can relish
So don't go around in a jet plane
The sights you will miss
Or life becomes an irony
Maybe it always is?

PS. Ok Ok. I know that this isn't anything related to what was suggested by people. But I was inspired to write this and so I couldn't keep from writing it . People can still continue suggesting.

Appeal to you

I have been overwhelmed by the faithful following my poems have. From people who praise my poems in German (danke danke) , people who comment about them at gun point, people I am not in touch with otherwise, to people I have not met: friends of friends of friends and friends .
As a mark of gratitude and affection for you people I would like to ask your opinion on what my next poem should be about. I will choose the topic that inspires me most, for there is no poetry without inspiration. Thanks.
As Joe Fox's grandfather says..."On to the next"

It's that "feeling"

I shall write about that feeling
That pure-emotion feeling
That wells in you heart
And gives you a new start
Well, if it is joy multiply by four
If it is love multiply much more
If only I could define it
I wouldn't write a poem about it
To try to explain this
Is like giving the air a kiss
Is like capturing a second
And giving it to your friend
"Ah but what is it?" you ask
In suspense you will bask
So I will try to explain
The colour of a fleeting train
Is the feeling of an unexpected gift
Or like a lovely lift
Is like finding a stranger, friend
Like a letter of love you send
A feeling to rejoice in life
Like the opposite of strife
The sun in between dark clouds
Like an angel shedding her shrouds
Something happy and sweet
For hardwork, a well deserved treat
A compliment for something you never knew
Or you thought people never knew
I could go on and on
But right now my "feeling" will be gone
So figure it out if you can
and tell me if you can.

So,yes. This one's for you

So yes, I am a woman
No. I am not a man
What do I think about this?
I find nothing amiss

No. I am not unfortunate
No. I dont condemn my fate
No. I dont have any hate
Not for you at any rate

If its a problem its yours
For greviance I have no cause
Among women I am free
A freedom you will never see

You don't want me near
Something about me you fear
You made me think ill of myself
And made me sit on the unused shelf

You made a goddess out of me
you worshipped me endlessly
You wanted to love me
But for it, you blamed me

No, I never really needed you
But you never took the cue
You wished for power and money
And the symbol that was me

Why rule or be ruled?
Why should resentment be fueled?
Why fear or be feared?
Why can't everyone be heard?

Oh yes you let me vote
But you did not read what I wrote
Women should stay at home you said
To love and be loved and end up dead

You gave me lipstick and a gown
And then you called me a clown
You wanted not weight but height
But you made fun of my diet

You designed the games I should play
When I didn't win you laughed away
You beat me and made me cry
And then you said, "Men don't cry"

You cried your heart out, to me, no end
I get your love for having listened?
You were sick and I helped you
And for that you said, " I love you"?

In your world you think you are king
Sorry. That world is not to my liking
A woman I am, a women I'll be
I won't be you, 'cause I don't want to be.

Aimless, hopeless

I don’t have answers, I have only questions
Questions that go round and round in my head
In a search of an answer that makes some sense
But all I get is sadness instead

I think and think to find a solution
But not one occurs and hope ebbs
How can you reconcile your past and now
When the two are like the skies and the glebes

There are memories of happiness
There were arguments of bitterness
The memories turn sour in your mouth
The arguments loom in their ugliness

Your friends some help and some don’t
Your elders say, I told you so
Some love to advise you, that you were wrong
Some indifferent ones turn their face and go

I ask not to be judged but to be understood
I ask you to see the reasons behind
I ask not pity but help
I ask you to see and not be blind

And I get into my skin for no one else will
And I think more and get nowhere
I try to find somewhere to be alone
But my thoughts keep company everywhere

What hope lies ahead I know not
What I look forward to I know not
I am not looking; I am afraid to see
To see a future when I have forgot

Life and love, joy and grief
Can both be forgotten without a thought
But you oughtn’t to forget your mistakes
Then all your experience is only for nought
