If you tell me you want to commit suicide
First thing I would ask is, why?
Why would you willingly give away
Your right to live?
Has life lost its charm for you?
Do the birds not sing any more?
Has wind ceased to fill you
With exhilaration?
Have the flowers faded?
Has the sun stopped shining?
Does the moon seem too ugly
To look at?
For the entire world you will die
With just a note to say why.
Can one line or ten
Explain away a life?
Can a few words of sorry
Wish away the pain
The pain you will leave the world
Not just your dear nears
For we are left to reconcile
Your decision with our reality
A reality in which
Illogical, unfair things like death
Hitherto had no place
Indeed I again ask why
When you have the courage to willingly
Face the end?
Would you not have a little courage
To face a beautiful world
Where not just one person
But everyone who hears of your demise
Will be sad or at least like me
Will be left with an
unanswered question forever.
